Housing and Economic Issues for The Chip Game
Below are some Taylor County issues or constraints to keep in mind when playing The Chip Game.
- Lack of services and infrastructure to support development.
- Lack of the full array of housing types and price ranges.
- Lack of public accessibility and development along the coastline.
- Lack of designated employment centers.
- Lack of adequately sized airport to serve Taylor County’s future needs.
- Limited demand for hi-tech industry/limited opportunities for higher-skilled, higherwage
jobs.
- Need to reverse Perry’s diminishing role in the local economy.
- Lack of coordination between governmental officials at all levels (Federal, State, and
Local) in providing incentives to attract and retain businesses that offer good paying
jobs.
- Concern about the impact of growth on the preservation of the family environment.
