Regular participating citizen expressed concern that the desired 'nature' of Taylor County has not been discussed, explored.  She wondered what kind of personality we want our community to have, how we want to be viewed.  She knows we have much to explore in short time, but thought citizens should talk more about what would be desireable and what to avoid.

The Taylor County Vision 2060 schedule has been updated to include additional public meetings to provide increased opportunities for public feedback.  All meetings are held at Taylor County Middle School, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  All Taylor County community members are invited to attend and provide input on the Vision. 

 

  • October 4, 2007:  With special guest speaker Charlie Gauthier, Director, Division of Community Planning, Florida Department of Community Affairs

 

    • Joint Meeting between Taylor County Board of County Commissioners and the City Council of the City of Perry:  Task Force to provide Vision 2060 process update to Elected Officials.  Meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.

 

    • Committee meeting: Review draft Strategies and Solutions (Part 1).  Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

 

  • October 18, 2007: Committee meeting: Review draft Strategies and Solutions (Part 2)

 

 

  • December 6, 2007:  Committee meeting: Review and rank three Land Use Alternatives

 

  • December 13, 2007:  Task Force meeting: Review Land Use Alternatives as ranked by Committees.  The Task Force will select a Preferred Land Use Alternative.

 

  • January 24, 2008:  Task Force meeting:  Presentation of Final Preferred Alternative to Task Force for approval.  Task Force to then submit Final Preferred Alternative to City/Council for adoption.

 

In addition, joint meetings of the Taylor County Board of County Commissioners and the City of Perry City Council will be scheduled in December 2007 and January 2008 to review the progress of the Visioning process.  These meetings will be advertised at a future date.  All meetings are open to the public.
